About the Authors

Irma Clement (1965) studied nursery and Dutch laws. After having worked in the private sector she attended between 2000 and 2002 education in photography. During her education, she found her passion in architectural photography. In 2005 she started to write Amsterdam City and Walking Guide in cooperation with the co-author Marcel Bergen. In November 2009 she finished this project by publishing the Dutch version in cooperation with Klapwijk & Keijsers Publishers.

Marcel Bergen (1961) studied Dutch laws. Between 1982 and 1990 he was reporter at some regional news papers. Furthermore he produced and presented some programs for local radio stations. This was followed up by leading one of the first Dutch internet companies, between 1992 and 2000. After attending photography education between 2000 and 2002 he decided to write Amsterdam City and Walking Guide in cooperation with the co-author Irma Clement. After publishing of Dutch version of Amsterdam City and Walking Guide in November 2009 in cooperation with Klapwijk & Keijsers Publishers, the English version will be published around May 2010 in Belgium and The Netherlands.

The publisher and authors have the ambition to publish Amsterdam City and Walking Guide globally and in more languages. This will give tourists all over the world the chance to visit Amsterdam more comfortable. See also Licenses.

Both authors are currently working on “Wandelen over Zorgvlied” (Walking within Zorgvlied) and will be published around the beginning of November 2010 in The Netherlands.
